An Unexpected Party

 I told myself that I wasn't gonna spend the entire weekend getting ready for finals and the like. But. That is All I Did. Because me brains decides when It wants to focus and I apparently have no say in the matter. *confetti*

Which leaves me with stuff kinda done and me exhausted because I did not do any Relaxing. yuck.

On an interesting side note, I made a weird financial decision and bought a $35 two,three-ish foot tall Canaan Fir evergreen tree at a Christmas tree farm. It's Alive, with roots and everything, and is now in a black plastic pot in the corner of my living room and I Love It.

But Also. What. Am I Gonna Do. When it is No Longer. 3 Feet Tall.





Is it illegal to just...spontaneously plant a tree? somewhere? without telling anyone about it before hand? Like, a park or on a college campus? Asking for a friend.

(And yes, I realize that I could go through official channels and like, donate it or something once it's too big but how I am going to explain myself? "Hi, yes, I bought a small 2 and a half foot tall evergreen tree a couple years ago, and now it's Too Big For The Inside! Look at how good I am at Planning Ahead! Anyway, do you want it? I'm not gonna donate money, but you can have this really snazzy tree here!" *slaps roof of car*)

 I've been a fandom lurker for... basically my entire fandom life/career/existence. My tumblr is mostly full of likes and reblogs, and very little of my own content. This means that this whole tumblr meltdown isn't affecting me as it is other people, but it also isn't a whole lotta fun, either (I know how to use tumblr, damn it!).

So, I've made a... goal? I guess? for myself here on dreamwidth. I'm gonna try harder to actually create and post my own stuff, and to interact with people besides liking their things and scrolling on.

And, unlike a lot of people, this whole move is actually motivating me, and not out of spite. I want to make All Of The Things now, which is unusual. Usually I like to just think about making stuff. Tis a weird time, for sure.

It's like a fresh start, and I don't really know what I'm gonna make, but I'm gonna make something, which is cool. Looking forward to it.

 Hokay, so.

I feel like I should do an About Me post cause there seems to be a large influx of people migrating over and who knows who anyone else is and the like. So I feel that it's appropriate for me to introduce myself further.

I'm Party, she/her/hers, asexual and biromantic (maybe. still figuring that out). I'm 20 with a birthday in April and live in the Midwest of the US of A. (And let's get this out of the way: Fuck Trump and anyone who voted for or supports him. And that's the only politics I'm ever gonna get into.) I'm currently a Junior in college studying Professional Writing & Publishing with a Film Studies minor. I swear a lot.

I'll be on here mostly for fandom, but am not against having interactions outside of that.

I'm on tumblr, AO3, & ff.net as anunexpectedparty, same plant icon. I read a bunch of fanfiction, write only a little and post even less, and want to get into podficing. I've done a little bit, but nothing in the past 8 months. (I think about it a lot, if that counts!)

I was on tumblr a lot in high school under a different blog, got run off by a bunch of acephobes, and deleted my account. I joined back up at the beginning of 2018, and have had a much better time of it. Who knew surrounding yourself with positive people would help?!?! Not 15 year-old me, that's for sure.

I started posting fanfiction reviews on tumblr, and am working on getting more consistent with my uploads. I'm not sure if I'll continue that here, but yeah. That's a thing I do/did.

Fandoms: Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit/Tolkien, Percy Jackson, MCU, Kingsman, Merlin, and a bunch of other stuff. Harry Potter in small doses, Doctor Who and Avatar: TLA when I feel like it. 

Ships: Anything in my fandoms that is of age and consensual and (mostly) healthy. And anything with Obi-Wan Kenobi. Because yes.
